Welcome Pediatric Nephrologist Rouba Garro, MD, to Diamond Children's at University Medical Center

The University of Arizona College of Medicine Department of Pediatrics and University Physicians Healthcare welcome new faculty member Rouba Garro, MD, assistant professor, clinical pediatrics, to the Section of Nephrology.
As a pediatric nephrologist, Dr. Garro will care for children with kidney disorders at Diamond Children’s Medical Center at University Medical Center, the Arizona Elks Clinic for Children and Young Adults, housed within UMC, and the UPH Children’s Multi-specialty Clinic at Wilmot.
Dr. Garro completed medical school at Damascus University, Faculty of Medicine, in Syria. She completed her residency in pediatrics at East Tennessee State University and her fellowship in pediatric nephrology at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford University.
Dr Garro specializes in management of chronic kidney diseases, dialysis and renal transplantation.
Additional interests include management of acute and chronic glomerulonephritis, nephrotic syndrome and hypertension as well as renal tubular disorders.
The University of Arizona College of Medicine, University Physicians Healthcare and University Medical Center work together to care for patients, educate medical students, train resident-physicians and conduct clinical and basic research. The UA Steele Children’s Research Center (www.steelecenter.arizona.edu) and UMC have worked together to build Diamond Children’s Medical Center. Diamond Children’s plans to hold a grand opening in September, when the lobby is scheduled for completion.
