For oncology patients, families, friends and healthcare providers
When confronted with a cancer diagnosis, people frequently look for ways to support their physical and emotional healing. Reiki is a modality that well meets those needs.
Reiki is a touch modality with specific hand positions that are gentle, non invasive and non manipulative. ‘Rei’ stands for universal or higher dimension of the soul and ‘ki’ stands for life force energy.
Reiki is primarily used for stress reduction, relaxation and wellness. Many people with healthcare challenges experience a decrease in symptoms and a sense of renewal after a Reiki session. When one gives a Reiki session to others, one also gets the benefit of receiving Reiki in their system.
You are welcome to join the UMC Reiki share group to give and receive Reike, learn new ways to incorporate Reiki into your daily wellness program and inspire and get inspired by fellow Reiki students. One must have received at least Reiki Level 1 training to participate.
The UMC REike share group meets the third Wednesday of the month from 11:30 am to 1 pm in Kiewit Auditorium, room 2951A.
Marsha Drozdoff, ACSW, LCSW, CRMT, facilitates this group. Marsha has been an oncology social worker at UMC since 1981 and is also a Certified Reiki Master Teacher. For more information about this group, Reiki sessions or trainings, contact Marsha at (520) 694-4605 or mdrozdoff@umcaz.edu
